Myofascial Release Therapy
Myofascial release is a deep, slow, steady technique that is often gentle and relaxing. It is often described as much less intense than its counterparts, deep tissue and trigger point therapy.
Myofascial targets the soft connective tissue that holds the muscles together: The Fascia. Fascia can often become constricted due to trauma, inflammation, surgical procedures, and stress. This clenches muscle tissue into a rigid tense state that is hard to treat with other conventional methods.
Where as many massage techniques passively relax muscle tissue, Myofascial release actively relaxes muscle tissue by forcing open fascia and allowing blood circulation and nerve impulses to move freely.
